Welcome
to the UCL Medical Humanities Resource Database
A
database for all healthcare educators
This site has been created to provide a universally
accessible, comprehensive educational resource for the use of all
those interested in the use of the arts and humanities in medical
education and research. The existence of this resource is dependent
on the generous contributions and sharing of information by all
those active in this field.
The idea for the database was inspired by the multi-institutional
NYU literature, arts
and medicine database, and we are grateful to Dr Felice Aull
and Dr Marty Nachbar for their invaluable advice and support. This
database seeks to complement the North American database to which
a link will be provided. Work on the database was started by Dr
Deborah Kirklin, Dr Margaret Lloyd and Ms Heather Mitchell from
the Centre for Medical Humanities in
2000 with the creative and technical support of Anthony Peacock
and Professor David Ingram in the Centre
for Heath Informatics in Multiprofessional Education, University
College London.
